Drupal modules I would like to try...

The Hive code is based on Drupal. New Drupal modules are released almost every day (see the RSS feed at http://drupal.org/taxonomy/term/14/0/feed ) and sometimes I see one that looks promising. Or sometimes I notice an old one that makes sense, or sometimes I would like to have a new feature but cannot easily find a matching module.
I want to use this forum topic to propose new modules, ask you guys if it makes sense.

google ajax search

Google Ajax Search displays Google results in your own page. This could really spice up our Proogle page, if it works. See http://www.6na9.info/gasdemo for a demo

convert URL to links

I think it would be nice (but not critical) to have a filter/module that renders URL's and email addresses (in node text and comments) as <a href> links. I am sure such a module exists, but don't know the name.

Sure

It seems like there is a lot of stuff out there ... some of it might even be relevant!

I might propose anything likely to enhance Google visibility as a good early candidate.

download_count

Module "download_count" ( http://drupal.org/project/download_count ) shows a table of all files that are attached to nodes, and how often they are downloaded. Extra logging shows who / when and from which referring page the file was downloaded.

I believe such information is interesting for people who attach files (unless the counts are very low, because then it is frustrating).

download_count: never mind

Never mind, I have tried to install it (in Staging) but it does not work. Probably because our downloads are handled by apache without intervention from scripts.

I like the idea

But I wonder if it isn't a little early. Still, one doesn't know unless one measures. If we make the counts, how visible are the results?
