Anyone else get an error when creating a new project.?

Each time i create a project during a submit there is an error at the top of the screen. I did not copy it. :( The project is created correctly as far as I can tell but just seemed odd.

Also it might help to note on the short project name that NO spaces are allowed.

Yes, we have been tracking

Yes, we have been tracking down this error message, which we are getting on several types of content creation, even ones that have nothing to do with projects.

BTW, it seems that your latest project consists of only a single .p. Do you expect this to grow into something where there are issues and enhancement requests and the like, i.e., something like ProLint, or is it just a code snippet being offered which might generate a comment or question or two?

If the latter, it would actually be more appropriate to create it as a page or book page instead of a project. The intent of project is something where there is going to be ongoing evolution and multiple people interacting. A simple page is sufficient for offering an isolated piece of code. Or, if you are going to make several related contributions, e.g., a family of date conversion routines, you could consider creating book pages, one top level page is connected to the site map and the other are child pages parented to that top level page. This makes things easier for people to find and keeps the site map from getting clogged up with too many small entries.

Thanks for making continuing contributions.

I was wondering about the best approach.

The purpose of the project is simply example code.
I had thought about having a single project with multiple examples but then they do not stand alone.

I had not looked at the "Books". Just from the title I would not have even thought about it. I'll look at those and see what I can do.

thanks!

In many ways, one can use

In many ways, one can use almost any content type and in the end it is just a "node". Pages and Book Pages can have attachments and comments so one can provide code, whitepapers, documentation etc. and people can ask simple questions, make requests or suggestions and the like. Projects have a more formal structure for issues and requests with the expectation that there is a more substantial and ongoing feedback which would get clumsy if confined to comments.

Re: error msg when posting new content

Thanks Daniel. There's an error message that started appearing recently, after a security fix. Don't you just love security fixes that break other things? The error message seems to come and go, making it a bit difficult for us to track it down.

Thanks for letting us know. We thought it had gone away, but obviously we need to look into it again.

Fortunately, as you have noted, it doesn't seem to prevent new posts from working.

That's right, no spaces in the short project name. :)
