I found that it is possible to assign/prompt for the recipient's email address. So I would like to know if it is possible to assign the Outlook 'from email account' in my program as well and what is the syntax?

PDSOE F3 key re-assignment

Hello,

This has to do with PDSOE, not OEDA, but that wasn't an option when selecting.

I want to be able to re-assign the F3 key to run a program. I cannot see how to do that in Windows--> Preferences --> General --> Keys. Ultimately when this program runs it will allow the user to enter in a program that will be retrieved from the trunk in SVN (already setup, and the program works) and copied to the branch the user is working on. This is to make things easier than the many clicks that takes place now.

Prolint - tablename rule for class method parameters not working

I am having a class with method and that method is having 2 input parameters assigning to some other local vars.

Using Prolint I am generating ouput for the same class and output is showing warning like "inpt1 must be qualified with table name" and same for the 2nd input parameter for the line number where I am assigning it to other local vars.

But the same is working for procedure file having input parameters, no warning in the output page.

Please suggest

Good Afternoon.
I am trying to encrypt an existing PDF file using the below code that was part of the PDFInclude project i have downloaded from this site.

I assume, after the end of the program, the output file 'hello-encrypt.pdf' supposed to be encrypted. But the file can be opened without any password.

Can you please help me?

Also, Is there anyway we can open an encrypted PDF document using 4GL commands.

I greately appreciate anyhelp that you can provide.

I have a Invoice PF template that I use for generating digital invoices to be e-mailed to our clients.
I have an performance issue, because of the loading of the pdf template.

For every invoice I want to generate, the PDF template is loaded. After issuing a pdf_close, the temp tables containing the template information are cleared and I have to reload the template file.

Is it possible to issue a pdf_close, so the pdf-invoice is written to disk and then continue with the next invoice by using pdf_new?
But WITHOUT having to load the template file again.

I have two different users running the same PDFInclude app both on Win7 and Progress 9.1C. One works fine the other gets to a point that I cannot tell how far and the Progress app dies very ungracefully (just stops responding) and when you try to open the PDF file Adobe just says, "There was an error opening this document. The file was damaged and could not be repaired." I have attached both example PDF files to this issue. The "bad" PDF files always ends up being 15.79 KB in size. I can open them both using notepad.

I have a source that compiles but when I run it through Prolint I get a warning?
What is wrong and how can I prevent this warning?

This is a simplefied piece of code (this compiles but gives the same warning when running through Prolint 74)

I'm not sure if it happens only to me, but I'm getting (6491) warning when I start Settings and Manage Queries. So I increased the heights of those two dialogs by one pixel (379 to 380 and 349 to 350) and it is all fine now.

I mention that I use OpenEdge 10.2B on Linux.

I called this library because I had an error "COM objects not implemented on this system (5676)" when I tried to create an excel file from Progress.

PDFInclude Template with Form Fields

Hi All,

I have used PDFinclude for over a year now. I have used templates successfully. I now however cannot get the pdf template to work when creating form fields through adobe acrobat pro.

I am generating a pdf through open office. I then use this pdf in adobe acrobat pro and create a single form text field and then save this as a adobe acrobat 4.0 and later file. I have attached the file and code. Any help would be much appreciated. I am using progress 10.2b i am still using the older of the two pdfincludes (is it v3?).

I am looking into using PDFInclude. I am just trying to run an example from the documentation - "Text.p" - Text Positioning example and I get the above message. I then get c:\temp\GqBoldcaVcjmlYKz-Content-1.txt already has a conflicting use. (99).

Can anyone help me please? I am sure I have the latest version.

Error 5893 when trying to send PDF to printer

Hello

I am having an issue trying to print a file that was created with PDFInclude. I am getting error 5893 "The automation server for AcroExch.App is not registered properly". This worked until we upgraded Adobe to "xi".

The error is occurring in the CREATE "AcroExch.App" statement. I am using OpenEdge version 10 - character mode.

The print program is attached to this issue.

I would appreciate any help anyone can provide me.

Prolint 73 - Progress v9.1e - tty - installation issues

I need to find a source code analyzer for my company's Progress code and Prolint sounds like a perfect option. We use Progress v9.1e on a Linux server and the CHUI procedure editor for development here. My attempts to install Prolint have been unsuccessful. I downloaded Prolint v73 and its directories are included in the PROPATH. But there were run-time errors when trying to run prolint/launch/start.p (see attached pdf). I could not find very much related to running this from the CHUI Progress editor. Does anyone have any advice?

I added the directory in which the programs are and the output directory in the propath.
It is working for over an hour now for just 1 database.

Not a clue what is happening... (or not?)

I am unable to get datadigger running.
I have no documentation other than the 3 lines contained in readme.txt
The error is:
R-code file not located for "c:\datadigger\datadigger.p" (473)

Here is my startup line pointing to prowin32.exe:

Hi,
My application creates an invoice in MSWORD and then subsequently email's the document. I want to make the document 'Read Only' before the it gets sent off. Does anybody know the syntax to achieve this?
