OpenEdge 10.2

Does anybody know what Progress is about to do in OpenEdge 10.2 and where i can read about it?

pages don't show keywords

Some, not all, pages don't display their keywords (from the 'keywords' category).

issue owner does not get email on follow-ups

When a visitor (specifically "ameijer") reports an issue, and someone else (like myself) creates a follow-up on that issue, for example to say that the issue is fixed and a patch is available, then I would expect that this visitor("ameijer" in this example) would receive an e-mail notification. But he does not get one. He only gets e-mail notifications for new comments(!) on the issue if he is subscribed to site-wide notifications for new comments.

That does not seem right to me. I assume that people are highly interested in follow-ups on their own issues.

Hive response time

I've been navigate around the Hive, and keep hitting delays in getting pages back. It seems to average out to a good 5-count - sometimes longer, it's rarely less than a 2-count though.

Is there something that can be done about this?

ProRefactor download

Hello Hive,

Today I wanted to install ProRefactor plugin using OEA update manager and it says "no content on the site".

Don't miss the news... subscribe!

New projects (or releases) may be added any time, or perhaps there are discussions about projects you are interested in. Or maybe someone posts bugs and feature requests for projects and your feedback matters. But how do you know if something interesting is happening?

You could visit the site daily/weekly and click the "recent" tab to find out what's new, but that is boring and we don't expect you to do that. Instead, you can have the news come to you! There are several different ways:

changed template for websvn

I have changed the template for the Subversion repository browser ( http://websvn.oehive.org ) so it looks kinda embedded in the site.

The new template is a copy of the default "BlueGrey" template with hacks in header.tmpl and footer.tmpl.
Hope you like it.

Drupal modules I would like to try...

The Hive code is based on Drupal. New Drupal modules are released almost every day (see the RSS feed at http://drupal.org/taxonomy/term/14/0/feed ) and sometimes I see one that looks promising. Or sometimes I notice an old one that makes sense, or sometimes I would like to have a new feature but cannot easily find a matching module.
I want to use this forum topic to propose new modules, ask you guys if it makes sense.

Hive upgraded to Drupal 4.7.6

I have upgraded The Hive (both staging and live) to Drupal 4.7.6.
Fingers crossed - everything still works! If you see any new problems, please let me know.

Yes, we do Subversion repository hosting

Yes, the Hive has always had Subversion repository hosting. It's not obvious, but it's true.

You can see what repositories already exist by looking here: websvn.oehive.org.

It's not integrated into Drupal in any way, at least not for now. The plug-ins that we looked at for integration were rather immature and not very compelling. We'll have to find some way to make it more obvious that SVN is available on the Hive.

ganimede - transaction server

The goal of this project is to make possible to access Progress database from any external program that can use sockets. The server (broker and agents) are written in Progress 4GL and made use of sockets capabilities of Progress V9.

trouble with gmail

I am having trouble with gmail: incoming messages are fine but messages that I have sent since 17 January have not been delivered. Sorry John, Tamhas and Robert Mirro and others who may wonder why I never write :-)

gmail is now (since 1/17) using authenticated SMTP over SSL. I did not know that, and I can't figure out how to configure it on Linux...

removed some modules

In the past we have installed some Drupal modules that we are not using anyway. I have moved the code for those modules from the "modules" directory to the new "unused-modules" directory, so they don't work anymore.

If you see new bugs, resulting from dependencies to the removed modules, please let me know asap.

Goodbye GLOBAL-SHARED.COM

In a few days it will be 5 February, the 10th aniversary of the “Progress Reference to Windows API”. It will also be the very last day of the global-shared.com domain.

It all started when Progress 7 was brand new; the first Progress version with widgets and persistent procedures. It was also the first Progress version designed for the Windows operating system and this was quite a culture shock for lots of Unix-oriented Progress developers who were used to editing loops and readkey statements.

Drupal 4.7.5

I've updated the Hive with Drupal 4.7.5. Please comment here if you see any new problems.
