The lines above represent:

1. the postscript name of the glyph

2. the character code in the 1254 codepage

3. the type of the following lines.
   a. When it is "width" (e.g. 1251.diff), there must be 8 lines following.
      They represent the width of the characters in the fonts:
      Times-Roman,Times-Bold,Times-Italic,Times-BoldItalic,Helvetica,Helvetica-Bold,Helvetica-Oblique,Helvetica-BoldOblique
      which are the variable length fonts present in the pdf base fonts.
   b. when it is "ref" (e.g. iso8859-2.diff), there must be one line following.
      This line represent the "reference" character to be taken for the character's width.

   The "ref" type is more suitable for latin languages, where the modifications to the letters are accents and the like.
   The "width" type is more suitable for languages with completely different characters, like Cyrillic.

All the lines below the last meaningful one are ignored.
